The young artist Cecilya Mestres has an important career path in the music scene. Still in her twenties, she's now a recognized blues, classic rhythm'n'blues and rock'n'roll singer.
These last years, the singer has toured around most of the countries in Europe and also around Argentina. In 2019, she starts her career in France.
Cecilya was born in Vilafranca del Penedès, Barcelona in 1992. She started studying music at the age of three, acquiring musical language, singing and piano knowledge in different schools of Catalonia.
Studied Media and Communication in Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya and Glyndwr University, not forgetting her passion for music while training in different disciplines of musical theatre (singing, vocal technique, interpretation and dancing) at Escola Superior d'Art Dramàtic Eòlia, Vocal Factory and Aules.
Being on stages since she was 14, during this period she also sang and composed in different bands of different styles.
In addition, between 2007 and 2014 she completes her training with an extensive work in Estill Voice Training either in Barcelona and in London, with teachers such as Anna Valldeneu, Alexandra Morales, Viv Manning, Daniel Anglès, Paul Farrington and Anne Marie Speed.
She lives in Mallorca from 2015 until 2018 and she becomes a must in the local scene. As a solo artist and also with her bands "Cécile & The Fernetiks" and "Cécile & the Major Tones" she tours around the Balearic Islands (Ibiza, Mallorca, Minorca & Formentera) playing in different venues and festivals, sharing stage with artists such as Mike Sanchez.
Cecilya is also recognized in Spain as she has been in the Spanish version of the famous TV program "The Voice" in 2017.
In 2018, Cecilya went on tour all around Argentina as a solo artist hand in hand with the guitar player Nacho Ladisa supported by the "Buenos Aires Blues School" and "Blues en Movimiento" association. She started 2019 playing around Austria and Germany with Nacho Ladisa and the Vienna Blues Association. It's just in that moment when she decides to move to Paris.
In June 2019, Cecilya participates as a singer and speaker in the first TEDx Talks in Majorca island (Spain).
In France, Cecilya leads her rhythm'n'blues and rock'n'roll stars group hand in hand with the guitarist Francky Gumbo. "Cecilya & Los Hot Tamales" have already recorded their first demo and they've played in the most important jazz clubs in Paris (Le Caveau de la Huchette, Sunset Sunside, Le Balajo,...). They have also toured around France, Switzerland and Spain both in clubs and festivals such as the Disney Rock'n'roll Festival in Disneyland Paris or the Festival des Terrasses of Crans-Montana in Switzerland. In 2020 their participation is already confirmed in great European festivals such as the American Tours Festival and the Béthune Retro Festival.
At the same time, Cecilya records her first solo album in January 2020. She embarks on a journey to a wider musical universe, composing her songs with the Parisian musician Paul Solas and the guitarist and producer Philippe Almosnino (Johnny Hallyday, Vanessa Paradis, Les Wampas,...)
